Car smashes into busy West Coast cafe

A car has smashed into a full cafe on the West Coast, caving in part of the building.

The incident happened at the Junction Cafe and Honey Centre on the Taramakau Highway (State Highway 6), south of Greymouth, about 10am.

A cafe worker said the shop was full when the car came crashing through the window.

Stuff reports that about 40 people were in the cafe at the time.

No one was hurt and the cafe is closed temporarily while the wall and window are repaired.
