Man arrested in Greymouth drugs bust

A drugs bust last night in Greymouth resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old Greymouth man charged with several counts including supplying methamphetamine (P).

He appeared in the Greymouth District Court today to face a variety of drug-related charges.

Senior sergeant Paul Watson said the man was arrested on the spot after a police squad searching under warrant found drugs at the Rochfort Street property.

Mr Watson said there was no link to the drugs gang arrests in Canterbury last night. Three Tribesman Motorcycle gang members were arrested for a range of charges including possession and supply of methamphetamine following raids on several properties in Canterbury late yesterday.

Kenny James Mason Raroa (36) appeared in the Greymouth District Court this morning and was remanded without plea until December 12.

Raroa was charged with supplying P, possession of P, possession of explosives, possession of a P pipe and two P straws, and possession of cannabis. Police did not oppose bail.
