A man has been arrested in relation to the robbery of a Greymouth BP, when the offender threatened staff with a samurai sword.
West Coast Police investigated the aggravated robbery which took place about 3.15am on Saturday 7 July.

The sword weilding offender took an unknown amount of cash from the register then fled on foot, police said after the incident.

Fortunately nobody was injured in the robbery but the station attendant was understandably very shaken, police said.

The arrested man is due to appear in Greymouth District Court on Monday.
