The third annual Haast Whitebait Festival takes place today in what are expected to be great conditions on the coast.
The festival hosts the Great Whitebait Cook Off, as well as market stalls, rides and music.
A whitebait maze and a competition to count the whitebait are also on offer.
For those not too keen on whitebait, venison and salmon are available.
The festival is being held at the Heartland World Heritage Hotel in Haast from 11am to 3pm.
