Leaves turn golden on vines at McArthur Ridge vineyard following the 2022 harvest.

McArthur Ridge manager Murray Petrie said the harvest this year had been one of the best in terms of quality and quantity and the vineyard had some top-quality wine sitting at the winery.

Central Otago Winegrowers Association general manager Jake Tipler said winegrowers expected "an absolutely stellar vintage" from this year’s harvest.

"The quality was outstanding this season," he said.

Other winegrowing regions experienced high humidity and there was lots of rainfall in Marlborough, but a dry season in Central Otago meant clean fruit with bumper crops and 10%-15% more fruit harvested than previous years.
