Voting is open for more than 4200 commercial fruit and vegetable growers to have their say in the upcoming Horticulture New Zealand levy referendum.
The levy gets paid by all commercial growers on the sale of New Zealand-grown fruit and vegetables.
Horticulture New Zealand president Barry O’Neil encouraged growers to cast their vote and have their say on the organisation continuing its important work on behalf of growers.
A levy proposal document and voting papers had been sent to all eligible growers, he said.
Voting closes on June 14.
A renewed levy would apply for six years, from the expiry of the current levy order in March next year. The organisation was proposing the levy rate remain at the maximum levy rate of 15 cents per $100 of sales, Mr O’Neil said.
