Paramount stud co-owner Doug Irwin said 35 of the 43 Suftex rams on offer sold for an average of $1500 including a top price of $2400, paid by Melrose Station in South Otago.

The sale result was a sign the new season’s lamb prices had boosted sheep farmers’ confidence, Mr Irwin said.
