A window of fine weather has had farmers and contractors smiling at the skies recently.

Kyeburn farmer Cassie Becker said it was great to finally get some baleage made as the recent weather pattern had held up contractors.

‘‘The warm and dry conditions will have some excellent quality feed going into wrap,’’ Mrs Becker said.

Southern Rural Life snapped Sarah Byrne and her two children Nikita and Liam in the truck, lining up to deliver bales to the wrapper. Miss Byrne said now that the ground has finally dried up they have been ‘‘flat out’’ making baleage in the Central Otago region. Managing the job with two kids in tow is a juggle, Miss Byrne said.

‘‘But we just make it work. I will head home with the kids around 5pm. They enjoy baleage season, especially on a beautiful day like this,’’ she said.
