Fed Farmers’ meetings and elections affected

Covid-19 restrictions meant changes to the way the Otago and Southland Federated Farmers provincial annual meetings and officer elections were held.

Southland provincial president Geoffrey Young said the annual meeting planned for May in Invercargill was cancelled and office bearers would remain the same for the next 12 months.

Otago provincial president Simon Davies said the province’s annual meeting was held online on May 8.

Mr Davies remained president while Logan Wallace, of Waipahi, is the meat and wool chairman and Luke Kane, of Tapanui, is the dairy chairman. The sharemilker group chair position was unfilled so Mr Davies was keen to hear from anyone who would be interested in getting involved.
