Environment Southland will be sharing a site with the Southland District Council at this year’s Southern Field Days.

We appreciate that sometimes it’s not easy to know which council to go to, so to try to make this a little clearer, there will be a range of activities, staff and councillors available to interact with and ask questions of.

In addition, each day we’ll be offering a daily prize of a $100 voucher.

Simply pop into the tent for a chat and enter the draw.

Councillors and staff will be on site over the three days with a focus on water, including farm plans, the Essential Freshwater package, the Environment Court process; and we’ll have Regional Forum members available to talk more about the work they are doing.

We’ll also be launching the new Pest Hub — an online guide for advice on pest animals and weeds in Southland. The website will provide useful information on relevant pests in Southland and recommended control options.

We’ll be at 125 SFD Highway. There’ll be a coffee cart on site and a few chairs to rest weary legs after a busy day wandering, so pop on down to have a chat and to snag a snag off the barbecue.
