Gore Golf Croquet interclub blue team members (from left) Hilary Marshall, Joyce MacLeod, Toby Djuve and Cheryl Muir appreciate having new shelters to take refuge in while playing croquet at Shelton Green.

Mrs Muir said the nine new shelters were a big improvement on the former ones.

"They had a gap and were draughty."

The club received grants from The Trusts Community Foundation, Community Trust South and the Lottery Community Fund to pay for the shelters which were built by Gore Home Improvements staff.

The old shelters were given to Eastern Southland Riding for the Disabled.
