Rebekah Greene claimed her fourth national medal of the year on Saturday.

The Otago runner delivered a silver medal performance in the senior women’s national road race championships in Auckland.

Her time of 37min 01sec left her just over a minute ahead of third-placed Kelly Parlane (Auckland) in the 10km race.

However, world championship runner Camille Buscomb showed her class by claiming gold in 33min 54sec.

It was Greene’s fourth national medal of the year.

At the beginning of the year she claimed two on the track — gold in the 5000m and bronze in the 1500m — while she added a silver in the national cross-country challenge in Dunedin in August.

Meanwhile, in the under-20 grade, Otago’s Maya Irving claimed gold, finishing the 5km race in 17min 31sec.

In the 20km race walk, Alex Brown won the senior men’s title in 1hr 58min 22sec.
