Runners take off from the start line of the Leith Harbour Free 5km and 10km races yesterday.

The event marked a return of competitive running and was held under Alert Level 2 protocols, attracting 33 runners between the two distances.

Jono Ryan and Lars Winther could not be split in the men’s 10km race, sharing the title in a time of 38min 20sec.

Eva de Jong won the women’s race in 48min 37sec.

Corey Lewis and Emma Lloyd won the men’s and women’s 5km races respectively.

The race began at Kitchener St and followed a course around the harbour downPortobello Rd.
