Top honours were spread evenly among high schools competing at the Otago schools duathlon in Mosgiel over the weekend.

A tip-top field of pupils from across the province ran, cycled and ran their way to glory in both team and individual competitions.

Suzie White, of St Hilda's Collegiate, claimed honours in the senior girls individual competition in 1hr 11min 22sec.

Year 11-13 pupils competed in the senior competition over 5km and 2.5km running legs split with a 20km cycling leg.

White was chased home by runner-up Lana Deaker of Cromwell College and schoolmate Georgia Mitchell, who took bronze.

The senior girls team section was won by the Otago Girls' High School pairing of Erin Ford and Rebecca Hill.

Rebecca Dalphin claimed gold for Logan Park High School in the junior girls individual competition in 42min29sec.

Year 9 and 10 pupils competed in the junior section in which two 2.5km run legs were split by a 10km bike leg.

Dalphin held out the Columba College pair of Caitlin O'Brien and Emily Prout, who took silver and bronze respectively.

Sarah Ford and Caitlin O'Donnell won the junior girls teams event for Otago Girls'.

Jack Divers, of Otago Boys' High, was first home in the senior boys competition in 1hr 2min 48sec.

Tyler Cunningham, of Waitaki Boys' High School, was second ahead of Louis Freeman, of Logan Park High School.

George Bates won the junior boys title for King's High School ahead of Tasman Selfe, of Waitaki Boys' High School, and Laurie Watson, of Mount Aspiring College.
