A week after starring on the national stage, Cameron Moffitt has taken his talents one step further.

The 15-year-old claimed a silver medal at the Australian All-Schools Athletics Championships in Cairns.

A year 11 pupil at Otago Boys' High School, Moffitt ran 26.20sec to finish second in the under-16 boys 200m hurdles. That left him 0.23sec behind gold medallist Tayleb Willis, of Victoria.

He very nearly managed a second medal in the 100m hurdles. His 13.53sec left him 0.05sec behind third-placed Noah Oliver.

Willis also claimed that title in 13.13sec.

It completes an impressive two weeks for Moffitt, who cruised to gold in the junior 100m and 300m hurdles at the New Zealand secondary schools championships in Dunedin.

He also added a bronze in the shot put.

There were several others to win medals a week after successful weekends in Dunedin.

Kayla Goodwin claimed gold in the under-18 girls triple jump, Annalies Kalma won silver in the under-16 400m and Emma Osborne took bronze in the under-18 400m.

Kalma and Osborne teamed with Genna Maples and Tayla Brunger to secure silver in the under-18 girls Swedish relay.
