Purdon teamed up with Judy Robertson, of Taieri, to win the Dunedin Centre composite pairs on Thursday night.
The win was all based around a great first end from the pair. They opened up a 5-0 lead after just the first end and managed to stay in front the rest of the way over Geoff Wilson, of Balclutha, and Noreen Paul, of Fairfield.
The pair led 11-2 at one stage and the score was then 11-8 before the combined duo pulled away again to win 16-11 in the 16-end final. It was the 10th centre title for Purdon and the ninth for Robertson.
