Boxer Te Mania Shelford has been defeated in her bronze-medal bout at the Youth Olympic Games.
The 18-year-old was out boxed by Ireland's Dearbhla Rooney in Buenos Aires, going down in a unanimous decision in the women's 57kg category.
"It was a really crazy experience but I'm still so proud," she said.
"Knowing that I came fourth and I don't get to go on the podium - well, that just makes me hungrier."
Team-mate Kasib Murdoch, of Dunedin, was also defeated in the fifth-sixth bout in the men's 60kg division.
Wanaka cyclist Phoebe Young sacrificed her own race to help a team-mate who was involved in a crash while competing in the women's combined event.
Kiwi rider Samara Maxwell went down after another cyclist bumped into her with several laps to go in the criterium.
Sitting at the back of the pack Young did not think twice about stopping to help.
"She [Maxwell] was doing so well sprinting and managing to stay in the group, but when I saw she was down I just wanted to stop and make sure she was OK," Young said.
"I'm so proud of her because she put in an amazing effort."
Maxwell is battered but in good spirits. It was her second crash of the Games. She also went down in the road race.
The pair finished the final of the five days of racing in eighth.
Max Taylor finished 19th in the men's criterium.
The only New Zealander in action on the final day of competition is karate competitor Raukawa Jefferies.
