Budding sports stars converge on Roxburgh

About 180 pupils from area schools around the South have been in Roxburgh for the past couple of days for the annual southern regional area schools tournament.

The pupils have played many different games, from the traditional sports such as rugby and netball to newer games such as petanque, while ki o rahi will take place today.

The pupils come from the area schools of Lawrence, Maniototo, Roxburgh, Catlins, Twizel and Waiau. The tournament finishes tomorrow.

From the games played a southern area schools team would be picked. The team would play in the national area schools sports tournament in Dunedin in July.
