New Zealand's track cyclists have won three medals on day three of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

New Zealand now has nine medals on the velodrome.

Sam Webster claimed his second gold of the Games by winning the men's sprint.

Webster beat Scotland's Jack Carlin by two races to nil in the best of three race final.

He won the second race with a time of 9.952, 0.005 seconds faster than Carlin.

Webster has two sprint titles at the Games following his men's team sprint gold with Eddie Dawkins and Ethan Mitchell on Thursday night.

Campbell Stewart won silver in the men's scratch race, beaten to gold by Australia's Sam Welsford.

There was confusion at the end of the race as the timing chip on his bike didn't register as he crossed the line, meaning officials initially left him off the podium.

After a few minutes of uncertainty, Stewart was restored to the silver medal position.

And Emma Cumming won bronze in the women's time trial.

Australians Kaarle McCulloch and Stephanie Morton won gold and silver respectively.

New Zealand's Natasha Hansen and Ellesse Andrews finished fourth and 12th respectively.

Rushlee Buchanan was the best placed New Zealander in track cycling's women's points race at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, finishing fifth.

The result was a bitter disappointment for Buchanan, who was left in tears after failing to finish on the podium.

Michaela Drummond finished in 10th and Racquel Sheath in 17th.
