40-over wins for Union, St Kevin's and Oamaru

Union, St Kevin's College and Oamaru registered wins in senior 40-over cricket in the North Otago competition on Saturday.

Valley, batting first against Union, was dismissed for 91.

Bowling for Union, Matt Stewart led the way with three for 14 while Blake James, Brad Fleming and Flynn Cameron took two wickets each.

Jeremiah Shields (43 not out) and Glynn Cameron (36 not out) took Union to 95 without loss.

St Kevin's College first XI had the edge over Waitaki Boys' first XI.

Batting first, St Kevin's made 150 for six in its 40 overs with Henry Murphy leading on an unbeaten 54.

Bowling for Waitaki Boys', Quinn Wardell took three for 23.

Waitaki Boys' was dismissed for 139 in 32 overs with Eli Johnson top-scoring with 37 and Angus Philpott adding 21.

Bowling for St Kevin's, Liam Direen took four for 27, Lachlan Brookes two for 18 and Jacob Fowler claimed two for 36.

Oamaru set Glenavy the task of scoring 176 runs to win at Glenavy on Saturday. Bowling for Glenavy, Ross McCulloch took three for 32 while Brian Mercer claimed two for 28. In reply, Glenavy was dismissed for 116, with Rodney Van Leeuwen (36) leading the way.

Bowling for Oamaru, Stephan Grobler took six for 36.
