Fourth loss for Otago

Otago suffered a fourth straight loss at the national under-19 men’s tournament in Christchurch yesterday when going down to Wellington.

Otago posted an imposing 303 for seven off 50 overs. Benji Culhane bashed 85 off 68 balls and received good support from Jed Mockford (77), Xavier Chisholm (54) and Thomas O’Connor (46).

Wellington had reached 193 for four off 34 overs in reply when rain stopped play and Wellington was declared the winner under the DLS method by two runs.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
