CD solid in reply to big Otago score

Otago wicketkeeper-batsman Derek de Boorder scored an unbeaten 140 to help the Volts reach 513 for seven declared in their Plunket Shield match at the University Oval today.

Central Districts are 163 for two in reply and trail by 350 runs. 

In the other games, Wellington have beaten Canterbury by five wickets in a game which was over in two days, and in which 35 wickets fell in about 170 overs.

Wellington pace bowler Hamish Bennett picked up his first 10-wicket bag. 

In Hamilton, Northern Districts are 81 for three in their second innings and trail Auckland by 86 runs with two days to play.
