Stephan Grobler was impressive in North Otago’s first game last year, taking 10 wickets against South Canterbury.
Otago Country’s Kevin Loggenberg bowled well against South Canterbury last week, claiming six for 81 off 18 overs.
He also notched a half-century and Sukhdev Singh made 40.
There are still six games to come after this weekend and all to play for.
The winner will get to challenge for the Hawke Cup — which is currently held by Hawke’s Bay — later in the Summer.
