Queenstown sides and Albion winners

Queenstown Ballarat, Queenstown Wakatipu and Albion all had wins in the Vincent Senior Koford Cup T20 competition on Saturday.

Blacks Hill travelled to Queenstown and batted first against the Queenstown Ballarat side and got through to 115 for three, after winning the toss. George Catto (44no) top-scored while Dave Lilley and Hardick Patel added 25 runs apiece. Adam Coates was the best of the bowlers with one for eight. Englishman Harry Gadd led the chase with an excellent 73 not out and the home side romped to victory, losing just two wickets in the process ending on 116 for two.

Queenstown Wakatipu travelled to Ranfurly and got through to 129 for eight wickets, helped by a 59-run opening partnership between Gabe White (43) and Jordan Gibbons (23) that provided a solid foundation. Ross Graham took three for 17.

Maniototo was always on the back foot, as some fine bowling from the high school side made big runs hard to come by.  It finished on 108 for eight after its allotted overs. Graham completed a fine game top-scoring with 21 not out. Troy Anstiss with two wickets  for eight, Regan McIntyre two for 18 and Seth Mawhinney two for 31 made sure the home side struggled.

Albion batted first against Cromwell and made 89 for nine off its 20 overs. Alex Gunson took three for 12 while Mark Knox, S. Singh and Regan Hucklebridge, all took two wickets each. Captain Ross Anderson (25) and veteran Mark Knox (21) tried valiantly to produce a win for their side but failed by two runs to pull off a victory, ending on 88 for eight wickets at the end of 20 overs. Fin Ross took three for 18 for the winner.
