The final test of the summer has been washed out at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

The full stop was put on the third test against South Africa shortly after 1.15pm today with heavy rain falling, as it has for much of the last 12 hours.

New Zealand will be bitterly disappointed as they were chasing a series-levelling win and had South Africa 80 for five, still 95 behind overall.

South Africa clinch the series 1-0 with the other two matches drawn.

The rain-hit first test in Dunedin ended in a draw.

New Zealand's test summer finishes with four wins, one loss and two draws.

Their next international action will be the Champions Trophy in England in June.
