Brazil this month, Dunedin the next. Three players with their eyes on the World Cup have been included in Newcastle United's 26-man squad for the historic visit to Dunedin next month.

The English Premier League club is playing Sydney FC at Forsyth Barr Stadium on July 22 as part of the Football United tour.

Any fears Newcastle might have sent only reserves and academy players to New Zealand have been comfortably assuaged.

The Magpies' squad includes three players in the thick of the action at the World Cup in Brazil.

Coach Alan Pardew will call on French fullback Mathieu Debuchy, Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul and Ivory Coast midfielder Cheik Tiote, depending on how far the players' respective nations progress at the tournament.

All of Newcastle's regular starting players from last season will be on the plane, including captain Fabricio Coloccini, who has played 38 times for Argentina and has been one of Newcastle's most outstanding players in recent seasons.

Other notable names are Hatem Ben Arfa (13 caps for France) and Sammy Ameobi, who has made seven appearances for Nigeria.

After the Dunedin game, Newcastle plays the Wellington Phoenix in Wellington on July 26.
