Southern United has been beaten 3-1 by Waitakere United at Peter Johnstone Park this afternoon.
After a strong start, Southern conceded in the 22nd minute when Julyan Collett finished on a corner from close range. Jake Porter added a second five minutes later, finishing a screamer from outside the box with his left foot.
From that point Southern rallied and gained momentum towards the start of the second half. Danny Furlong was denied a goal by the post in the 56th minute, but he made no mistake in the 71st minute, heading home a cross from Conor O'Keeffe to bring the score to 2-1.
Waitakere then launched a barrage on the Southern defence, culminating in a goal on the counterattack to Keegan Linderboom.
The loss sees its three-match winning streak come to an end.
