The National Women's League draw is out and Southern United will start with a bye.

It gets its season under way the following weekend with a match against Canterbury United at English Park on October 23.

Its first home game is against Northern at Peter Johnstone Park in Mosgiel.

The format for the seven-team competition will see teams playing each other in a round-robin with a playoff match scheduled for December 4 and the final slated for December 11.

Auckland remains the most successful team in the competition's history with six titles since the tournament began in 2002, while Canterbury and Northern are the most successful teams in recent times with three trophies apiece.
