Wood nominated for Championship player of year

All Whites striker Chris Wood has been nominated for the English football Championship's player of the year award.

Wood, who will captain his national side against Fiji tonight in Wellington, has scored 24 league goals this season for Leeds.

Wood is up against Newcastle's prolific goalscorer Dwight Gayle and Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert.

The awards will be presented on April 10.
