Still in the prime of her youth at 18, Ko has already piled up a list of accomplishments as large as her winning margin at the Evian Championship.
Ko has ticked off a laundry list of achievements, some of which include being:
- The youngest person ever to win a professional golf tour event
- The youngest person ever to win an LPGA Tour event
- The youngest player to be ranked number one
- The youngest woman to win a major championship
Despite her unmatched success for her age, Ko still has several targets which could be in her sights as she targets in on new goals and endeavors.
Wrestle back the No1 ranking
Ko had a chance to get back to the top of the women's golfing world at the Evian Championship, needing to win and have rival Inbee Park finish lower than 17th to reclaim the top spot. However, Park shot a final round 68 to jump into a tie for eighth and stay atop the world rankings.
LPGA Tour player of the year
Ko was rookie of the year in 2014, and finished third in the Player of the Year race behind Park and Stacy Lewis. Now, the contest is shaping up as a two-horse race between Ko and Park, with Park having 243 points to Ko's 224 - with 102 points back to third place.
Leading 2015 money winner
Again, Park is slightly ahead in the monetary stakes so far this season, having earned $US2,316,422, a smidgen more than Ko's $2,190,922.
The 2016 Rio Olympics
Ko is intent on representing New Zealand in the 2016 Olympics.
"I think one of my big goals is the Olympics [in Rio next year]."
"You know, it's only around the corner. It's less than a year from now. I think the first time it was announced, I was like, 'man, I really want to be playing in the Olympics'.
"I've been super-excited to play, and to play for your country on the international stage, it's an amazing experience, and I've met some Olympians, and they say nothing is like it. It's been my big goal."
Having already racked up an array of achievements, the Olympics could be the next unique accomplishment for Ko.
However, the tournament is held in August, and there are set to be another four major championships by then.
Who knows what Ko will have added to her resume by then.
