"Not quite, no," the world number one said when asked if he was happy with his driving after he finished 12 strokes behind winner Justin Rose, and with the equal worst ranking for accuracy after he found only 33 of 56 fairways at Muirfield Village.
"It's still not quite right. I felt a little bit defensive. I was just trying to put it in play, instead of going ahead and hitting it down there and ripping it like everyone else."
Woods, however, was happier with his iron play in his final preparation for the US Open, which starts on June 17.
"I felt like this week I was able to shape the ball and I hit some good shots I hadn't hit in a long time," he said during a seven-minute media scrum, a day after refusing to do any interviews.
"That's something that's been lacking and it was fun to be able to finally do that."
Woods will return to Pebble Beach, where he won the US Open title by a record 15 strokes in 2000, having played just four tournaments after he took nearly five months off following revelations of his marital infidelity.
"It's a process," he said of his comeback.
"It felt good to be under the gun here, to have to hit shots."
