Hendry won on the first playoff hole against Australian Brad Kennedy and New Zealander Ben Campbell after all three players were tied on 19 under after 72 holes.
The Open was at Millbrook in Arrowtown and though yesterday started out wet, it stopped around noon and was chilly but dry in the afternoon.
