Queenstown golfer Fraser MacLachlan made no mistake in qualifying for the Australian PGA later this week.

MacLachlan hit a superb 6-under-par 66 at the Lakelands Golf Club in Brisbane on Monday as he finished top of the qualifying round for the Australian PGA, which starts tomorrow.

The Australian PGA tournament will be played at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.

He will be joined by a bunch of New Zealanders. Included in the field is another Queenstown golfer, James Anstiss.

Other New Zealanders lining up include Ryan Fox, Michael Hendry and Daniel Hillier.

The field is headlined by 2013 champion Adam Scott and two-time defending champion Cameron Smith, fresh from the Presidents Cup, and two-time US PGA tour winner Cameron Champ.
