Otago is third after the opening round of the New Zealand Masters at the Alexandra club.
Led by Liz McRae and Susan Greig (31 points each), Otago scored 91 stableford points, 10 behind Waikato and four behind Northland.
Rounds two and three are today, and the final round is tomorrow.
