Tournament turns 100

The tournament, in its 100th year, attracted more than 100 women, as players from around the country travelled to celebrate the milestone, Queens Park Ladies Golf Club club captain Jo Raines said.

The tournament was the ''only tournament of its kind'' in Southland, and was ''quite special'' to local golfers, she said.

It would enter its match play stage today and end tomorrow with a dinner.
