Americans Grayson Murray and Lucas Glover, however, achieved the feat at TPC Boston in Massachusetts during the second round at the Dell Technologies Championship on Saturday.
Murray used a six-iron from 196 yards at the par-three eighth for his ace and before the crowd had even stopped celebrating, a cheer erupted from the other side of the course when Glover matched the feat with an eight-iron from 177 yards at the par-three 16th.
The PGA Tour timed the aces as coming 65 seconds apart.
"It was a really good swing," Murray told reporters. "This shot never left the pin.
"It's lucky when it does go in but either way, I probably would have just had a tap-in if it didn't. It was rolling the perfect speed."
The ace helped Murray to a three-under 68 that left him three strokes behind halfway leader Jon Rahm.
Glover, who shot 69 to end the day seven strokes from the lead, had an inkling his tee shot was headed for the hole.
"Thought it might be pretty good when it was in the air," said the former US Open champion.
"I didn't know it was going to be in but yeah, always nice to see a good shot go in."
