Black Sticks women fight back

The Black Sticks women powered back from a two-goal deficit to beat the United States 3-2 in Rangiora yesterday.

The Kiwis found themselves down 2-0 after the opening quarter but lifted their game and responded with three unanswered goals to seal the result.  Striker Olivia Merry scored in her 150th international, while teammates Liz Thompson and Stacey Michelsen added to the score sheet.

The US had landed four second-half goals past the Black Sticks on Saturday to win 6-2.
