First win for St Hilda’s at nationals

St Hilda's Collegiate claimed its first win at the secondary schools netball national championships yesterday.

The school beat Wellington Girls’ College 42-37 on the back of a strong second quarter in which it forced six turnovers and restricted Wellington Girls’ to just seven shots.

While Wellington Girls’ came back in the third quarter, it was not enough to overhaul the Dunedin school, which finished strongly.

Earlier in the day it  lost to Southland Girls’ High School 40-35.

The tournament finishes with playoff matches today.
