The Southern Steel has won its preseason match in Oamaru today.
Playing the Netball South Beko League team, the Steel claimed a 77-39 win. The side led 44-19 at the break, proving far too strong for last year's Beko League champions.
It was the Steel's first preseason game with its Silver Ferns available, having been to Australia to play the Sunshine Coast Lightning earlier this month.
The team is in Dunedin next weekend to play the Mainland Tactix.
