A young team will defend the Fast5 netball world series title for New Zealand.

The side sees just two players return from last year's champion team and includes outgoing Southern Steel goal attack Jamie Hume, is heading to the Northern Mystics.

Former Steel defender Storm Purvis, who played for the Mystics this year, will captain this team.

Coach Kiri Wills said she hoped the team could play an exciting style of game.

"We’ve selected an exciting mix of players who will bring plenty of speed, flair and creativity," Wills said.

"Fast5 is an exciting product and that’s how we’ll be hoping to play – we’re going over there to win the title.

"The atmosphere at Fast5 is amazing; the kiwi supporters really get behind us and get into the spirit of the event. We can’t wait."

The tournament will be played on October 28 and 29 in Melbourne.
