Finn Butcher
Butcher will be joined by Mike Dawson and Jack Dangen in the men’s K1 squad which will compete in the World Cup. Butcher has also been named in the under-23 team for the world championships. The first big event of the year is on this weekend — the Australian Open will be contested in Penrith.
Former Alexandra paddler Kensa Randle is named as the reserve in the women’s K1 squad, although she has been selected for the world championships team and is also a member of the under-23 team.
Another Alexandra paddler, Lotte Rayner, has been picked in the women’s junior K1 squad for the world championships.
The world championships are in Brazil later this year.
