It was not just the All Blacks beating up the Australians at the weekend.

Dunedin mixed martial arts fighter Brogan Anderson continued his impressive run of form when he competed in the Xtreme Fighting Championship (XFC) in Brisbane on Saturday.

Anderson (27) took his professional record to eight wins, two losses when he beat multiple Australian Caged Muay Thai (CMT) and kickboxing champion Michael Badato, of Sydney, via a round-one technical knockout.

It was Anderson's third win this year at welterweight.

Badato, who has an extensive kickboxing record, had been undefeated in seven CMT knockout wins.

Anderson kept Badato pinned on his back and from side control frequently landed shots.

The writing was on the wall as he unloaded about 15 head shots, some partially blocked, but with about three minutes gone in the five-minute round the fight was stopped.

Anderson described the fight as ''clinical and composed'' and a great way to cap off the year.

It was his first TKO win since he went from amateur to professional in 2013.

Four out of five New Zealanders won on the XFC show, among them Christchurch lightweight and multiple title-holder Kieran Joblin (18 wins, 7 losses).

Anderson plans to fight again next year on both promotions and is now setting his sights on a trip to the JacksonWink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, United States, in October. He spent three months there early this year.
