A bit tipsy

Ethan Wykes (13), of Otago Boys' High School, applies weight to the centreboard of a sunburst sailing dinghy to bring it upright during the South Island Secondary Schools Sunburst Regatta on Otago Harbour yesterday.

The regatta began on Monday and finishes tomorrow as part of the New Zealand secondary schools tournament week. It is open to schools from around the South Island and competitors from Ashburton, Southland, North Otago and Central Otago are lining up.

The event was in its 13th year and began as an initiative of former Otago Boys' High School teacher, the late Alan Garbutt.
