Dunedin youngster Alex Clarkson has been selected for the the New Zealand under-12 team travelling to Australia next month.
Clarkson (12) has been selected as one of two New Zealand under-12 boys to compete at the ITTF-Oceania Hopes Week and Challenge in Tweed Heads, Australia, from April 1.
He will be travelling with the top-ranked national under-12 player David Guo, of Auckland, and national junior coach Ben Duffy, also of Dunedin.Clarkson has been playing table tennis for aboutfour years with the 38mm Table Tennis Club, and played for Table Tennis Otago at several regional and national championships last year.
He has been selected for the Table Tennis New Zealand under-12 development squad in 2016 and 2017.
Alex, who in in year 8 at Tahuna Intermediate, is looking forward to the tournament.
