Five Otago players have been named in Southern Pride senior squads.
The Pride is made up of players from the South Island - excluding Canterbury - and plays in the national fastpitch championship.
Angela Taylor, Mariana Ioane and Kirsty Currie were all named in the women's team.
In the men's team, both Nelson Yorston and Mitch Finnie were selected.
Meanwhile, last week in Papakura Josh Forrester was recognised among the country's best young players.
A standout for Otago at the under-15 national championships, he was chosen for the tournament rest team as a catcher.
