Otago siblings in contention in world mixed doubles

Two Central Otago siblings remain in playoff contention on the world curling stage.

Bridget and Sean Becker have won three of their first five games representing New Zealand at the world mixed doubles championships in Norway.

The duo began with a 10-4 win over Kazakhstan, before being edged by England on day two.

They bounced back to beat Finland 9-5, before being well-beaten by Korea that same day.

Yesterday they put on a dominant display to beat Qatar 15-2.

Games against Ireland and Saudi Arabia remain.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand men's team has bounced back from a first-up loss to Australia.

It has claimed wins over France and Turkey and now heads into its final three games.

The women have battled, dropping all five games so far.
