Sellout crowd raises prospect of further bouts in Mosgiel

The success of a kickboxing event in Mosgiel over the weekend could result in more bouts being scheduled in the town, organisers say.

Three men's title fights and 10 undercard events were contested in front of a sellout crowd at Memorial Hall on Saturday for the first time since 2012.

David Watts won the Wako light heavyweight title K1 78kg title. He defeated Reid Karema by unanimous decision.

Jason Mischewski won the light welterweight K1 63.5kg title by decision over Cody Sione.

The ISKA South Island welterweight muay thai 68kg title was won by Steve Farrant in a decision over Shem Murdoch.

Three tough bouts between female fighters were among the most keenly contested bouts.

Kaitlyn Tucker won by decision over Rishon Harris in their mod thai 58kg match-up.

Margaret Rouvi defeated Ashlee Robinson by decision in their muay thai 60kg clash.

Jess Wilson won by first-round stoppage against Bex Tait in the muay thai 68kg division.
