Wanaka skeleton racer Katharine Eustace achieved her best result of the season at the world championships last weekend.
She finished in 10th, the best result by a New Zealand female.
''All the races this year were preparation for this event with equipment testing and training plans, so it was good to know that it has been successful,'' Eustace said.
Her performance in St Moritz, Switzerland, was an improvement on her 13th at last season's world championships, and an encouraging sign for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, next February.
''It shows that I can certainly be pushing into the top 10 and higher if things do go well.''
