Competitors in the boys and girls under-14 race at the Otago secondary school cross-country championships take off from the start line at Kaikorai Valley College yesterday.
The event involved 153 runners competing across eight races. It was the fourth and final race in the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association's cross-country series.
Mount Aspiring College's Gregor Findlay was a convincing winner in the 6km under-19 boys race in a time of 22min 21.40sec. St Hilda's Collegiate's Cecilia Crooks took the 4km under-19 girls race in 17min 45.3sec, one minute in front of her nearest rival.
