The Steven Prince-trained 6yr-old downed talented mare The Precious One in a star-studded 1000m heat on yesterday's slow-rated track.
The effort showed Passito has returned an even stronger horse following her winter spell.
"She looks really good this preparation. She is stronger this time in," Prince said.
"She is such a competitive horse. When The Precious One came up to her she was only in second gear and she dropped down another cog."
Keeping pace with The Precious One in her new campaign is no ordinary feat.
The Claire Anderton trained 4yr-old was stunning in her first-up victory at Riccarton last month.
Anderton is readying her for the South Island Breeders Stakes at the New Zealand Cup carnival.
Passito competed in the Stewards Handicap at last year's carnival. A return to that race this year is not being considered for the mare.
Steven Prince also produced maidens Cocee and Deceptio Visus to win jumpouts yesterday.
Deceptio Visus impressed with a two-length victory over 1000m.
The victory has the Per Incanto 3yr-old set to start at Wingatui on Melbourne Cup day.
"He was pretty good. I made him hit the line because he is going to the races next Tuesday. He is a lovely horse."
Cocee disappointed in four starts as a 4yr-old.
The Nadeem mare has returned to work a different prospect this season and that showed in her jumpout victory.
"Last preparation she was weak and did things wrong, but this time in she is totally different.
"She was good in her jumpout. She will line up in a maiden race later this month."
Jockey Corey Campbell was in winning form at yesterday's jumpouts with 3yr-old filly Clutha Queen.
He could be the toast of Balclutha if he is able to win with the De Boy at today's Gore meeting.
The Rodd McKenzie-trained galloper looks a big winning chance in race 3.
The 4yr-old resumed with a strong second placing at Gore last month.

Former Otago-trained stayer Patrick Erin was late scratching from a lead-up race for the Melbourne Cup for the second time in five days yesterday.
Trainer Chris Waller told AAP the 7yr-old gelding a slight temperature had caused the 7yr-old gelding's withdrawal from yesterday's Bendigo Cup.
The stable is now monitoring the horse's health to see if Patrick Erin is able to make a last-ditch attempt to qualify for the Cup by winning the Lexus Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
